Professional Instruction

Drawing on the best of traditional and modern influences, the Alabama Pipes and Drums is pleased to offer excellent instruction for anyone interested in learning bagpipes or drums. No previous musical training is necessary! Each student will be taught on an individual basis from the beginning, with the student’s personal learning style in mind, so that each student will gain the most from their lessons. Our teaching program is roughly based on that of the Glasgow, Scotland-based College of Piping and Drumming curriculum. Each student’s progress is carefully monitored to ensure that the student has a complete mastery of his or her instrument.

We are currently seeking young students AND adults. Instruction is provided on a timely and structured basis by qualified instructors from within the band.

Lessons are currently held on Tuesday nights with the youth program (ages 8 to 15) held from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. and the adult program (16 and up) from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Additionally, private sessions are also available on Thursday nights, weekends, and online.
